The primary function of my work is to challenge and stimulate the imagination by creating unusual material forms that inhabit places. These anomalous forms are constructed through processes of layering, wrapping, and combining a variety of artificial materials into structures that integrate with their surroundings. The form remains ambiguous - a poetic metaphor of naturally occurring things. A catalyst to renew wonder and awareness of everyday objects and places.

Ann Marie Hadcock was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1979. Her current studio is in Kitchener, Ontario. She has a Fine Art Diploma from Fanshawe College, Honours Visual Arts Degree from the University of Western Ontario, and an MFA from the University of Windsor Ontario. Hadcock is the recipient of an Emerging Artist Project Grant from the Ontario Arts Council in 2009 and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Grant in 2005. Recent exhibitions include Off the Norm: Fanshawe at 40, Museum London in 2009; Some Kind of Wonderful, Kitchener-Waterloo Biennial in 2009, SymBEotic at Harbourfront Centre in 2011.
